The Claresholm RCMP would also like to remind the public and make people aware of various frauds/scams that are becoming more and more prevalent.
There are currently numerous types of frauds/scams going around, and more recently, scams involving Amazon Accounts has been increasing. Like any other scam, if any personal information is being asked, such as banking information, Social Insurance Numbers, etc. DO NOT EVER PROVIDE IT! And if you are made to feel pressured in to provide anything, once again, DO NOT EVER PROVIDE ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION. Hang up and contact the local police department or contact the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
Since there are so many various frauds and scams circulating, contact police or family members if you are unsure BEFORE PROVIDING ANYTHING online or over the phone.
