Gravells, Julie

It is with great sadness that the family of Julie Gravells announce her passing on April 6, 2024 at the age of 68 years.
She will be often thought of and lovingly remembered by her soulmate Hugh Fagan, and sister Ann Knudsen. Survivors also include Ann’s children Mark (Nicole) Knudsen, Josh Knudsen, Michelle Knudsen, Jill (Alec) Harper and son Caden. As well as cousins Margie and Kay Crawford of Trail, British Columbia.
Julie was predeceased by her parents Roy Gravells of Grimsby, England and Mary Gravells of Medicine Hat. Julie was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta. Early in life Julie moved to and graduated from high school in Victoria, British Columbia. Shortly after graduation, Julie enrolled in the military. After proudly serving her country, Julie worked as a nurse’s aide in British Columbia. Later in life Julie settled in Claresholm where she lived for nearly thirty years.
Julie had a zest for life that was highly contagious to those around her. Being free-spirited and very spontaneous, Julie would frequently pick up and go on an adventure with friends, pleasantly surprising those around her. She was often seen around town with a warm smile and was known for her quick, friendly wit. Always one to be helping anyone in need, Julie spent much of her time volunteering for organizations like the Mustard Seed and Streets Alive, as well as several different food banks. When not donating time or money to some worthy charity, Julie could be found reading, writing to her many pen pals from around the word, listening to a wide variety of music and buying gifts for her many friends.
A Celebration of Julie’s Life will be held at the Claresholm Royal Canadian Legion on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at 2pm. All are welcome to come out and share their stories, love, and laughter as Julie would have wanted.
