Claresholm Recreation offering a lot this summer

Claresholm Recreation has a lot planned for this summer.
No matter what the weather is like outside, it’s always perfect for a dip in the pool because Claresholm has an indoor swimming pool.
The aquatic centre features a five-lane, 25-metre pool, with Olympic-rated diving blocks
It also is handicapped-accessible with a graduated entry, and is accessible to everyone.
The pool offers something for everyone.
Drowning Prevention Week is July 21 to 27, where there will be daily water-smart activities for all ages during the public swim time.
There will be a pool inflatable, which is a water obstacle course with a slide, on the third weekend in July 19, 20, and 21 and again on Aug. 23, 24, and 25.
There will be a Family Night Swim on Friday, July 19 from 6:15 p.m. to 8 p.m.; and a Teen and Young Adult Swim on Friday, Aug. 16 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Aquafit runs Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Bootcamp runs Monday and Wednesday from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The seniors program runs Tuesday and Thursday from 11:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.
The lane and fitness swims are Monday to Friday from 6 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. and Monday to Sunday from 12 noon to 1 p.m.
The parent and tot fun swim is Monday to Sunday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. It is shared swim time with lane and fitness swimmers.
The aquatic centre also offers a variety of swimming lessons, as well as training for lifeguards.

Claresholm Recreation is working with Claresholm and District Family and Community Support Services as well, offering a junior teen group every second Friday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the Claresholm Arena mezzanine.
Youth and community badminton will take place at the arena on Thursday nights from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Portable basketball nets will also be set up for anyone interested in shooting some hoops.
Tuesdays in July and August will see pop-up events with sports equipment at parks in town from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. If the weather turns bad, the events move inside.
Pickleball will continue at the tennis courts at Willow Creek Composite High School Mondays and Thursdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. There is a $1 drop-in fee that is invested back into equipment replacement.
Welcoming Claresholm will also be offering sports night at the arena on July 17, Aug. 22, and Sept. 5, featuring basketball, badminton, pickleball, street hockey and cornhole from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
