Two candidates for mayor, four for council

When voters in Claresholm go to the polls next month, they will have several candidates to choose from in the elections for mayor and council.
Monday, Aug. 21, was nomination day, the last opportunity for potential candidates to let their names stand.
After a 24-hour period in which they could still withdraw their names, the town announced the following candidates will stand for office, listed in alphabetical order:
Mayor (one position)
• Hall, Lon;
• Schlossberger, Brad.
Council (one position)
• Dixon, Chris Jason;
• Jodoin, Ryley;
• MacPherson, Shaun;
• Ross, Diana P.
The byelection will be held on Monday, Sept. 18, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Claresholm Community Centre.
The advance poll is Wednesday, Sept. 6, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Claresholm Community Centre.
