Peggy (Margaret) Baker
September 26, 1945 – July 25, 2023
The family of Peggy (Margaret) Baker are saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday July 25 in the Claresholm General Hospital with family and friends at her side. She was surrounded with lots of love from family and staff.
Peggy was born in Camrose AB on September 26th 1945 to Jack and Dorothy Clark. When her parents separated, Peggy went to live in a Christian home for children with her brother Ernie. When she started high school she went to live with her Aunt Meg Weber in High River. After high school she moved to Vancouver to live with her Mum. In 1965 she met Ken Baker who had recently moved to Vancouver and they were married the following May.
They were blessed with the birth of twins in 1969. Ken was transferred to Regina with the Hudsons Bay Company shortly after their birth. In 1973 they were transferred to Calgary. They bought a business in Claresholm in 1975 where they remained until her passing. Peggy worked at the Willow Creek Composite High School for over 20 years. Peggy was a beautiful piano player, loved to dance, play cards and to camp with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Ken, daughter Charlene (Steve) Brummund of Redcliff AB, son Warren (Leslie) Baker of Claresholm and Grandchildren Keaton Baker, Joshua Brummund, Talaya (Jesse) Baker, Aaron Brummund and Caleb Baker. She was predeceased by her father, Jack Clark, mother Dorothy Beveridge, brother Ernie special aunt Meg Tupkal and Stepfather Doug Beveridge.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Claresholm Nazarene Church – 359 49 Ave W, Claresholm on Thursday, August 3rd at 2:00pm, with a light lunch to follow.
A special thank you to the Nurses and Doctors at the Claresholm General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Claresholm General Hospital Palliative unit.
