Town of Claresholm is taking steps to reduce risk to staff and the general public

In response to the current COVID-19 situation in Alberta, the Town of Claresholm is taking steps to reduce risk to staff and the general public.  The Administration and FCSS offices will be closed to the public beginning March 19, 2020 and will remain so until further notice.

The Town wants to ensure that citizens are not impacted negatively by the office closure to the public.  Staff are reporting to work and are available by phone or email for citizen assistance.  Citizens can call 403-625-3381 or email info@claresholm.ca to reach staff or for inquiries.

Residents who need to pay utilities and accounts receivables can use the following methods during the office closure (postdated cheques are accepted):

  • The office has a drop box at the front doors
  • Payments can be made via e-transfer to payments@claresholm.ca
  • Accounts are payable at most financial institutions
  • Payments can be mailed to the Town of Claresholm, Box 1000, Claresholm AB, T0L 0T0.

Development and Land Use applications will continue to be accepted during this time.  Applications can be submitted through the Town’s drop box at the front door or e-mailed to tara@claresholm.ca.

The Council meeting scheduled for March 23, 2020 will also be closed to the public, but can be viewed via live stream. Please check the Town’s facebook page and website for further updates.

Residents are asked to follow Alberta Health Services recommendations such as frequent hand washing, self-isolating if you have recently travelled outside of Canada, staying home if feeling sick, and social distancing.  More information is available at www.ahs.ca/covid19
