Flag day at the cemetery
Each year, on the Sunday nearest the anniversary of D-Day, which is June 6, the Legion cleans the graves of veterans buried in the cemetery and plants a Canadian flag at each one. D-Day began the Allied invasion of Normandy, which would eventually lead to the defeat of the Nazis in the Second World War.
