The Claresholm RCMP have charged two people in connection with a series of recent incidents.
Over the past week there have been a number of prowling, trespassing and break and enter type complaints from in and around Claresholm.
One person was assaulted when he confronted the people in the vehicle in a private parking area. Several items were stolen from garages and vehicles.
In the early morning hours of April 13, Claresholm RCMP were on patrol and observed a vehicle matching the description of a vehicle that had been seen at a number of the previous complaints.
The vehicle did not appear to belong in the neighbourhood it was parked in. It was stopped a few minutes later and the driver was suspended. Inside the vehicle several items were located that had been stolen from the previous complaints throughout the week.
Daniel Derek Morgan,32, of Claresholm, and Kassandra Villneff, 25, of Aldersyde, were arrested at the scene.
Morgan was charged with two counts of trespass at night, three counts of possession of stolen property, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of methamphetamine, assault, break and enter, and two counts of breach of probation.
Villneff was charged with trespass at night, three counts of possession of stolen property, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public, possession of methamphetamine, assault, and two counts of breach of an undertaking.
Morgan’s matters are set for court on April 16 to speak to bail.
