It’s Tartan Day!

Students from the Skye-Anna School of Highland Dancing performed for the residents at the Porcupine Hills Lodge on Friday, April 6. It was a day to celebrate Scottish heritage, as April 6 is Tartan Day. It is the day of the Declaration of Arbroath, which was signed in 1320, and is a declaration of Scottish independence. It was intended to confirm Scotland’s status as an independent, sovereign state defending Scotland’s right to use military action when unjustly attacked.
