Granum has new fire chief, deputy fire chief

This year the Granum Fire Department has changed over its fire chief and deputy fire chief.

Sean Kelly was named fire chief to replace Justin Vandervalk earlier this year and Crystal Wilde was appointed deputy fire Chief at the June 13 meeting of the Municipal District of Willow Creek by unanimous vote.

Councillor John Kroetsch strongly supported Wilde’s nomination.

“She is reliable, has been in the fire department for a number of years and does a good job,” said Councillor Kroetsch, speaking in support of Wilde to his fellow councillors before the vote.

Kroetsch added the decision of council to approve Sean Kelly as fire chief proved a good one.

“Sean Kelly is a very good fire chief,” Kroetsch said.
