Council refers road concerns to budget

The maintenance of the roads in Mountain View Estates in the southwest corner of Claresholm has been referred to next year’s budget for discussion.
At its May 28 meeting, Claresholm town council reviewed a request made at council’s May 14 meeting by resident Darcy Erickson who was concerned about the roads in Mountain View Estates which are damaged by frost.
Mayor Doug MacPherson and Coun. Brad Schlossberger both indicated they looked at the roads.
MacPherson recommended the matter be referred to capital budget discussions to disburse funding over the next four to five years to get the work done. “I would like to see it phased in,” he added, by dividing the project into pieces. “It’s time something is done about it.”
Coun. Craig Zimmer agreed to budget over the next few years and get it done. Council then decided to refer the roads in Mountain View Estates to capital budget discussions to possibly be reconstructed in sections over the next four years.
