RUSH, DEAN

Dean William Rush, a beloved son, and friend, passed away on August 11, 2025, in Fort St. John, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Born on July 11, 1970, in Edmonton, Dean was the cherished son of Lenora Balazs and the late William Roy Rush. He is survived by his loving mother, Lenora (Dennis) of Lundbreck, AB (Grand Forks, BC), and his brother Derek Rush (Sandra, Mitchell, and Hudson) of Calgary, AB. Dean also leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and a loyal companion, his dog Harley.
Dean’s journey began in the Stavely area, where he spent his formative years surrounded by the beauty of nature and the warmth of his family. He graduated from Willow Creek Composite High School, where he made lifelong friendships and developed a passion for music and carpentry. Following graduation, Dean pursued his interest in carpentry by attending courses at SAIT, honing his skills, and laying the foundation for a successful career in construction.
Throughout his life, Dean’s charismatic personality and infectious laughter endeared him to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His love for music led him to pursue his passion for drumming, and he eventually established a band, where his talent and creativity shone brightly. Dean’s music brought joy to countless lives and left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who heard him play.
Dean’s sudden and untimely passing has left a void in the lives of all who knew him. His warm smile, kind heart, and unwavering loyalty will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and the community he touched. Dean’s passing, attributed to multiple heart issues, serves as a poignant reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment with those we hold dear.
In his final resting place at Stavely Cemetery, Dean will be reunited with his beloved sister, Natalie Ann, and his father, William Roy. Their spirits will forever watch over the family, providing comfort and solace during this difficult time.
Dean, you will be deeply missed, but your spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved you.
