Everett, Eleanor Louise

1937-2025

With sadness at her passing and hope in the resurrection with Christ our Lord we announce the passing of Eleanor Everett on July 3, 2025 at the Strathmore Hospital.
Eleanor was born October 15, 1937 in Claresholm, Alberta to Fritz and Doris Johnson, growing up on the family farm east of the town. She married Ron Everett in 1960 and lived in various places throughout Alberta until returning to Claresholm in 1973 until 2022 when she moved to Strathmore to be closer to family.
The two mainstays in Eleanor’s life were her family and her church, both grounded in her faith in Jesus Christ. Being a wife, mom, grandma/nana and great-grandma was the delight of her life. The walls of the house and fridge door were crowded with pictures of family who she spoke about often and at length.
Claresholm Pentecostal Assembly formed her church family. Over the decades she led the Girls’ Club (Missionettes), taught Sunday School, participated in the Women’s Mission Circle, played piano for Sunday services, was the first woman to sit on the church board, and a faithful member of the prayer chain.
She is survived by Ron, her husband of 64 years; son Bradley (Manny); daughter Rhonda (Darryl); grandchildren Landen (Cheyenne), Jessica (Clayton), Devan, Christopher (Sarah), Maren, Bennett (Lauren), Abbey, Nathaniel, Heath and Stanley; and great-grandchildren Callum, Spencer, and Wesley.
The family would like to thank Dr. Maria Muller and Dr. Ben Sader, the staff at the Strathmore Hospital and Sagewood for their care and kindness.
Funeral services will be held at the Claresholm Pentecostal Assembly, 4716 2nd Street W., Claresholm at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
