Judith “Judy”Burdella Lind Van Dellen passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on August 22nd 2024 with her daughter at her side.
Judith was preceded in death by her husband Roger (1993) and her daughter Karen (2008).
She is survived by her son Forbes (Yvonne) and their three children: Michele (Richard) and three children; Troy and his three children; and Jason (Beth-Anna) and three children. Daughter Sheryl (Gene) and their four children: Rebecca (Darren) and four children; Kristin (Mark) and three children; Jodi; and Jonathan (Rayleen). Daughter Karen’s three children: Charity and three children; Joshua (Cindy) and three children; and Dallas (Nancy) and five children. She is also survived by 27 great grandchildren. She was beloved by all of her nephews and nieces.
Judy was a faithful member of the Claresholm Pentecostal Assembly where she taught Sunday School for 30 continuous years and had the privilege of having all of her 10 grandchildren attend her class.
Judy taught school before she married. She was very particular about spelling and punctuation. She was one of the very few that could tell you the rules for the use of “me” vs “I”. Her desk was filled with books of crossword puzzles she had completed even up to her final year.
She farmed with Roger east of Claresholm for all of her farming life.
Mom/Gram/Aunt Judy had a great interest in people, particularly her immediate and her extended family. She had amassed a century of knowledge. She knew everyone’s birthday and wedding anniversary from memory. She regularly sent out birthday cards to grandchildren and great grandchildren. When we were unsure of a person’s date of birth, we just had to consult her and we got the correct answer every time.
She prayed regularly for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 20, 2024 at One Life Church, 501 40th Street S, Lethbridge at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Gary Taitinger officiating.
