SAMUEL RAY BAIRD was born June 7, 1934 in Orsnston, Quebec; deceased October 15, 2025 at the Claresholm General Hospital.
He was predeceased by his mother Jenny and father Andrew. His brothers and sister Robert, Thomas, Arvin, Ruby, Muriel and Russell.
He is survived by his wife Marie Baird and 11 step children plus two step-grandsons: Beau & Josh, and favourite niece Barbara Baird.
Ray left the farm because his dad wouldn’t buy him a tractor, so he headed west. Ray always got the job he applied for; like heavy duty equipment. He said he knew how to operate them, and then taught himself how to! He first settled in Calgary and worked for the City of Calgary driving for three decades.
He retired in Stavely, that’s where he met Marie. He loved to garden, especially growing potatoes & veg. He loved crib at the senior’s centre, he also went to meat draws at the Legion. Ray had an infectious laugh and smile that he wore all the time.

There will be no funeral. Ray is buried at Mountview Cemetery in Calgary
