It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Crystal Rae Weiss of Nanton, Alberta, on July 11, 2025 at the age of 54.
Born May 10, 1971 at the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary, the beloved daughter of Leonard and Francess Weiss, of Claresholm. She grew up in High River, Coronation and moved to Claresholm in 1979, where she attended school. In 2008 she moved to Nanton and made it her home.
Crystal was a loving and devoted mother to her daughter, Brittany McDonnell, and doting grandmother to Carter Carlson, the lights of her life. She loved every chance she got to spend time with Carter, whether taking him to school, having sleepovers and beach days, or snuggling on the couch.
Her family was the focus of her life, as a loving aunt she spent countless hours doing crafts, playing games, or just talking with her nieces and nephew, creating loving bonds that will last them their entire lives.
She loved her sisters, Carrie Beacom (Tyler Beacom) and Chery Starling (Kelly Starling), unconditionally and loved them and their families like her own.
Crystal was a thoughtful, giving person. She was always looking to support those less fortunate as demonstrated by giving to the homeless whenever she could, whether it be meals, or clothing, or time. She looked for opportunities to volunteer, wrapping gifts at Christmas time for MyCityCare. Her energy for helping seemingly limitless.
For those fortunate enough to have had Crystal in their lives, they will miss the devoted friendship and caring person that she was.
A celebration of life will be held at the Claresholm Legion, at a date to determined.
