It is with great sadness to announce the passing of George Norman Egger on September 21, 2025.
George was born in Bell Donald, AB on January 30, 1933. He was a volunteer fireman when he just came to Claresholm, and lived at the firehall with Jimmy Lawrence. His rent was keeping the trucks maintained. George later worked as a mechanic at various garages in town. He finished up his career with the MD of Willow Creek. After 27 years, he retired. He then took on the task of re-conditioning Ford tractors, taking to the number to 132 in total.
George married the love of his life in 1959. In 1961, Danny was born, in 1964 Kathy and then in 1969, Scott. George loved his family more than anything in life.
Beloved husband of Ruth Egger, George was survived by his two sons, Danny (Betty) and Scott (Nicole); as well as his son-in-law Arnold Koehler. He had the pleasure of enjoying his seven grandchildren, Jordy (Terri), Brandon (Brittney), Brady (Breanna), Chantel (Kayne), Adam, Ryder (Arden), Colton and nine great-grandchildren; Kinley, Georgia, Ridge, Johnathan, Linden, Owen, Ashton, Rhett and Stryder. George is also survived by his siblings, Hazel, Cliff (Audrey) and Norma.
George was predeceased by his parents, Norman and Eva (Anderson) and sibling Roy (Beatrice). George was deeply saddened by the loss of his loving wife, Ruth, and daughter Kathy Koehler.
At George’s request, no formal funeral service will be held. A private family burial will be held in the Claresholm Cemetery.
