Mouser, Marilyn Anne

March 24, 1937 – August 28, 2024 (age 87)

Marilyn Anne Mouser (Nee Murdoch) a long-time resident of Claresholm passed peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2024, at the age of 87 in High River Alberta.  She was born in Coleman AB and was fond of recounting stories of the people and places within the Crowsnest Pass.
After graduating from high school Marilyn enrolled in the University of Alberta Hospital School of Nursing in Edmonton.  She graduated as an RN in January 1959 with her classmate and lifelong friend Rita Burton (nee Sorensen).   Marilyn pursued a career in nursing that took her to Honolulu, Calgary, Cardston, Vancouver and Claresholm working in nursing domains that included primary, preoperative, and long-term care.  Marilyn retired from nursing in 1997.
Marilyn married Ross on June 24th, 1967 in Coleman. Soon she was balancing the demands of working nights and raising a family on a farm just north of Claresholm off Highway 2.  She was talented at sewing, needlework, knitting, baking, and vegetable gardening.  In quieter moments she loved to relax with a good book, a black cup of coffee and a crossword close at hand.  After her retirement in 1997 Marilyn was a regular at bridge in Claresholm and Stavely.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband Ross in 2023.  She is survived by sons Scott (Danette Smith) and Doug (Julia McCormick); grandchildren Lauren, William, Shayla and Angus; sister Gail DeRae, and brothers Ken Murdoch and Donald Murdoch.  Marilyn is also survived by many grand-nieces and grand-nephews whom she loved dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at at 1:00 PM at Zentner Funeral Homes – 4079 1st Street West in Claresholm, AB.
