Hartley, Ryan Adam

July 22, 1980 – March 2, 2024

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ryan Adam Hartley, who tragically lost his life in a snowmobiling accident near Thorsby, AB, at the tender age of 43.
Ryan’s journey began in Claresholm, AB, where his love for the countryside, dirt biking, and mechanics blossomed during his time at WCCHS. His passion for welding led him to attain his red seal, marking the beginning of an illustrious career. With an “All Around” skill set, Ryan dedicated numerous years to various companies, fostering enduring relationships across the board. As a self-employed welder and exceptional fabricator, his professional ventures eventually brought him to the Thorsby, AB, area, where he thrived. Later, he settled further north in Chetwynd, BC, a place he held dear to his heart.
Known affectionately as “The Guy” who could fix anything, Ryan’s brilliance, immense heart, and exceptional social skills made him a beacon of light wherever he went. A true multi-talent, he worked tirelessly but also knew how to play hard. Above all, Ryan cherished his relationships. He made time for everyone, offering unwavering support and care, embodying the essence of a true friend, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and most importantly, a loving father.
Ryan’s greatest joy was his 10-year-old daughter, Aubrey – his “Little Bear.” From the moment she entered his life, Aubrey brought boundless love and light, transforming Ryan’s world. He took immense pride in fatherhood, imparting invaluable lessons on living life to the fullest, ensuring Aubrey would always be his greatest love.
Ryan leaves behind a vast network of loved ones, including his daughter, Aubrey Hartley (with Renee Hare), his parents, Wayne and Corinna Hartley, his brothers Randy (Cara), Shaun (Kara), Clayton (Ricki Lee), and Kyle (Candace), and his sister, Sheri (Lee Hansen). He will also be deeply missed by his adoring nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and those he considered family.
A celebration of Ryan’s life will take place on Friday, March 15, 2024, at the Calmar, AB Legion Hall, commencing at 1 PM.
We invite attendees to share photos, voice memos, or stories of Ryan in printed or digital form for Aubrey’s memory book and healing. A GoFundMe page has been established with the title: (For Little Bear, in memory of Ryan Hartley) to help support Aubrey’s future.
Ryan will forever be cherished and remembered with infinite love.
