Joseph Quinn, of Calgary, Alberta, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2023, at the age of 85.
Born in Cardigan, Prince Edward Island on August 27, 1937, Joseph was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Joseph had a zest for life and enjoyed various hobbies throughout his years. Fishing, hunting, and golfing were among his favorite pastimes, which allowed him to connect with nature and find solace in the great outdoors. Gardening and hiking were also sources of joy for Joseph, as he appreciated the beauty of nature and found peace in the simplicity of these activities.
Joseph’s faith was an integral part of his life, and he was actively involved in the Catholic Church. For over 30 years, he dedicated his time and energy to the Knights of Columbus, serving the community and living out his faith through charitable acts and brotherhood.
Joseph was predeceased by his loving wife Catherine and their son Francis. He is survived by his son Peter (Teresa), daughter Christina (Paul), and son Anthony (Antonella). His memory will be cherished by his grandchildren Courtney, Samantha, Tyler, Brooke, Isabel, Bennett, Abby, Nathan, and their spouses, along with his numerous great-grandchildren. Joseph’s presence will also be deeply missed by his many relatives and friends, who were touched by his warmth and kindness.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Bernard Catholic Church,
711-37 St NW, Calgary, on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. The ceremony will provide an opportunity for family, friends, and members of the community to pay their respects and celebrate Joseph’s remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Knights of Columbus or a charity of your choice, in honor of Joseph’s commitment to serving others. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy of love and faith continue to inspire us all.
