Joan Benson (née Mansfield) passed away peacefully on June 10, 2023, with her family by her side at Claresholm General Hospital.
Joan was born on May 27, 1957, in Liverpool, England. Joan brought joy and laughter to those around her with her quick wit and vibrant personality. She was a proud scouser and brightened up the lives of those around her with laughter. Joan held a deep affection for angels, and her belief in their guidance brought her solace and comfort throughout her life.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons Michael Swanson (Christopher Sexsmith) and Raymond Swanson; brothers David Mansfield and Paul Mansfield (Marsha); nephews Graham, Mark, and James; and niece Helen.
Joan was preceded in death by her husband John Benson; her father, Thomas Mansfield; her mother, Olive; her sister Elizabeth; and her nephew Darrin Mansfield.
Joan’s family will hold an intimate celebration in her honour. While no formal services are scheduled, those who wish to pay their respects can make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family expresses heartfelt gratitude for all the condolences and support during this difficult time.
