It is with immense sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of our father, husband, grandfather and friend; Norm Lewis on Monday, October 18, 2021.
Norm has left behind his wife Michelle, sons Ross (Jennifer) and Wes (Donna), daughters Shae-lynn and Shelby and his grandchildren Jeffrey, Kaiden, Dane, Cale, Brett, Kate and Asher.  He is survived by his siblings Phyllis, Linda, Leonard and Joe.
Norm was predeceased by his parents, Robert and Marjorie, his brother Bob, and son Jeffrey.
Norm was born at home in Middlesex, New Brunswick on August 30, 1953.  He grew up there and moved to Alberta in 1972 to live with his older sister Phyllis, as her husband Roy was stationed in Red Deer as an RCMP officer.  Norm attended SAIT in Calgary and became an apprentice heavy duty mechanic.  He lived with Roy and Phyllis while he worked in Red Deer; and later with special friends, “Ma and Pa” Gaetz and George Gaetz.
In 1979 Norm settled in Nanton where he became a fixture at Magwood Motors. He later partnered with Wayne Porter and they ran the Stavely Service Station.  In the early 1990s Norm operated “Norm Lewis Repairs” out of the shop on the farm north east of Stavely.  
Norm was an active member in the community, from being a 4-H leader, to being a member of the Stavely Ag Society, and the Stavely Elks. He was known to attend every event between Stavely and Nanton, especially if it involved his sons’ 4-H or hockey games.
Norm was a bus driver for 30 years and enjoyed interacting, teasing and treating his passengers.  He has been THE bus driver for many generations. Norm drove his regular route and the feeder bus, carrying students from Stavely to Nanton. If you grew up in Stavely… you have been on Norm’s bus!
Norm was best known for his eagerness to offer help or lend out a piece of equipment. Norm was a “wheeler and dealer” and quick to inform his friends and family of his latest acquisition. The item was often for “free”  and had good tires! 
Norm touched the lives of young and old, his best friends ranged from age five to 95. Norm was always ready to hear or tell a joke, pull a prank or tell a story for a good belly laugh.
A private service will be held by the family, with a Celebration of Life to follow in the future when restrictions allow us to embrace our community that has given us so much support.
