May 13, 1932 – September 30, 2018
Violet Mae Schulze (nee Frederick) passed away peacefully on September 30, 2018 at the Claresholm General Hospital.
Violet was born at her grandparent’s farm house near Stone, Saskatchewan. She loved growing up on her parents Gus and Cytie Frederick’s farm with many cousins and friends. She married Henry Schulze in 1952 and farmed in the Star Butte district. She enjoyed farm work, looking after the children of neighbors and relatives, cutting hair and decorating wedding cakes. She was an amazing cook and made everyone feel special by making their favorite treats. She had various jobs after Henry’s passing but her favorites were looking after children and she was known as Nana Vi by many. Violet considered her family and friends to be the most important thing. Everyone was always welcomed with an open heart. She enjoyed many years with her special friend Herb Pitt. She moved to Claresholm in 2013 and enjoyed living in the Porcupine Hills Lodge where she made many friends.
Violet was predeceased by her husband Henry Schulze, grand-daughter Amy McKee, grand-son Clayton Schulze and brother Clarence Frederick. She is survived by her son George (Haroldine) Schulze, daughter Jenny (John) McKee, son Fred (Carolyn) Schulze; she was the proud Nana of Adele (Nic) Dieterle, Nathan (Nicole) Schulze, Trent (Grecia) McKee, Ethan McKee, Mikayla McKee (Dustin), Shelby Schulze (Cody), Talon Schulze, Titan Schulze. She was also Great Nana to Kaitlyn, Logan, Noah, Avienah and Aiden. Violet is also survived by her sisters Barbie (Elmer) Flaig, Elaine (Allan) Winquist, as well as nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Saskatchewan. The family would like to give a special thank you to the wonderful staff of Claresholm General Hospital for all their kindness and care of Violet.
