October 1, 1926 – October 9, 2018

Fred Herbert Hall passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 after a brief illness at the age of 92. He is lovingly remembered by his children Joyce (Rick) of Surrey, BC; Gentry (Michele) of Stavely; and Roy (Karen) of Stavely; ten grandchildren: Cole (Darryl), Gentry, Sharni (Ryan), Ryan (Michele), Justin (Angela), Kirby (Brett), Kyleen (Mike), Byron, Brandon (Jacquelyn) and Randal; seven great-grandchildren: Taves, Keyla, Jayden, Kamilla, Zurin, Avery and Blake. Fred was pre-deceased by his wife Blanche Ellen Hall in 2001; parents Percy and Miriam; and four brothers: Perry, Art, Harold and Walt.

Fred was born October 1, 1926 in Claresholm, Alberta and raised on the family farm east of Stavely where he and Blanche farmed and raised cattle. They moved to the original homestead as newlyweds in 1951 and raised their three children there. They built a home a mile away in 1982. Fred always said he was on the “Freedom 85” Retirement Plan from farming and ranching but remained active helping with the operation throughout his life. Fred was a lifetime member of the Stavely Odd Fellows and received his 65 year pin this year. He was also a lifetime member of the Stavely Elks and was an active community member.

A Celebration of Fred’s Life will be held at the Stavely Community Hall (5101-52 Street, Stavely) on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at 2:00 PM with the Stavely Odd Fellows officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Stavely and District Agriculture Society P.O. Box 115, Stavely, Alberta T0L 1Z0 or The Stavely I.O.O.F. Cemetery P.O. Box 415 Stavely, Alberta T0L 1Z0.
